Physical Description1 file.

Note:This file contains photos and articles regarding Jacob's Well, outside of Wimberley, Texas. It is now a part of a park owned by Hays County.

Note:From the Handbook of Texas: "Jacob's Well is a natural spring flowing into Cypress Creek three miles northwest of Wimberley in west central Hays County (at 3002' N, 9808' W). It issues from an inclined shaft forty meters deep along a fault line in the Edwards Plateau. In the past the three-meter width of the shaft and the multichambered cave at its bottom attracted scuba divers. The well has claimed several lives in recent decades, however, and has been closed to diving. In 1948 Woodcreek properties made the well pond a part of its resort development. Jacob's Well and its watery cave figure as an important locale in Stephen Harrigan's 1984 novel of that name."
