Note:Two documents were printed and preserved by his grandson, Bill Johnson (son of Louise and Parks Johnson). "A Letter from Thomas Chambless Johnson to his children in 1934" as printed in 1981. This details his family after marriage to Lucy Bedford Connelly and some conduct of life philosophy. "My Life" are recollections dictated to daughter Louise in the '30s, and printed in 1980. This details his early life in the Georgia and Alabama, including slaves owned, the Civil War; and the move to Texas and San Marcos.
Note:William Parks Johnson, Jr., donated a "Johnson Cousin Tree" in 2016 that traces the TC Johnson family to the turn of the 21st century.
Note:T.C. came to San Marcos with his uncle, Gideon Thomas Johnson (1818-1886). T.C. had seven children: Dudley Connally (1884-1934), Thomas Chambless Jr (1886-1977), Beth (1889-1889), Joyce Louise (1921-1989), Lucy Elizabeth (1893-1990), Ruth Hons (1896-1985), and John Marion "Jack" (1899-2003).
Note:The T.C. Johnson house at 429 N. Guadalupe has been restored and is now the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University.
