Personal Name:
Stovall, Frances.
Physical Description1 file.
Note:This file contains articles relating to the Gideon Thomas Johnson (1818-1886) & his sons Will Chambless Johnson (1860-1944) and Gideon Gabriel Johnson (1848-1918). Another file has information on Gideon Gabriel's son, Lloyd Gideon Johnson. Thomas Chambless Johnson (1849-1937) also came to San Marcos with Gideon Thomas. Thomas Chambless was Gideon Thomas' nephew (and Will and Gideon Gabriel's cousin).
Note:Also included is the 1992 Historical Marker application essay by Frances Stovall for the Gideon Thomas Johnson House in Stringtown; however, this marker was never awarded by the State Historical Commission. This house became the residence of Al and Darlyne Lowman--and known to be the oldest continually inhabited house in Hays County--until it was sold to a land development company in the early 21st century regrettably named the "Kissing Tree."
