Easley scrapbook. Scenes in San Marcos [Photo].

Author: San Marcos Hays County Collection.

Imprint:[San Marcos, Tex] : [San Marcos Public Library], 1907

Physical Description4 photographs : b&w ; 2x2 in. photo.

Note:"San Marcos Normal crowd bound for Landis Park for a picnic," "Boy's hall Coronal Institute at San Marcos," "Baptist Church at San Marcos."

Note:This is the only picture I have seen of the BACK of Fisher Hall.

Note:The picture of the Baptist Church is dated 1907. It burned in 1909.

Note:The album itself is 28 x 19 cm, cloth-bound with black craft-paper pages. Photos glued, with hand-written legends. Many of the first pages are devoted to San Marcos and a boarding house called "Reynols" or "Reynls" where Normal School students resided. Perhaps this family stayed the summer here? There are also pictures from San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Itasca, and New Braunfels.

Note:Inside the cover is a note, probably typed by me (Arro) because the date is mistyped and unsuccessfully corrected. "2 November 19XX / This photo album was left to the 'neighbors' editor at the San Marcos Daily Record. Stacey Welch has contributed the volume to the library. / It originally belonged to J.D. Easely. His son, Al Paxton bequethed the album to the newspaper."
