Note:Hand-written on back: "Jenny Garth. The old Chautauqua tabernacle and a few tents are scattered round on the old Chatauqua Hill, which is now the site of Southwest Texas Teachers' College. Many noted speakers from Texas and the nation brought large crowds to San Marcos during the summer sessions. A large corn crop is growing on the present site of the Federal Fish Hatchery."
