Note:Carson's opened in the '40s and existed on a giant traffic circle that connected Guadalupe Street going downtown with State Highway 123 heading south to Seguin, and U.S. Highway 81 going to Austin and San Antonio. In the early '60s the Interstate Highway 35 was constructed along the route of US 81 in central Texas, obliterating the lovely Circle.
