Note:According to Dudley Dobie (p.16): "Another early settler was W.W. Moon who built his log cabin on the San Marcos a a site now identified as the corner of East Hutchison and Union Streets. Thus Mr. Moon may be regarded as the first settler and citizen of the village of San Marcos. Moon operated the first blacksmith shop. After the town site was laid out, Moon build his home at the corner of North Cedar and Hutchison Streets. Later on, he enlarged his home and converted it into a hotel. For years it was known [as] the Wooten Hotel and Stage Stand."
Note:It was the Moon Hotel until it was given to his daughter and her husband, Isaac Wooten. Article attached, below.
