Abstract 520    $aAn undated newspaper clipping with the same photo states: "A memorable moment was captured in this picture by A.A. Brack on Oct. 7, 1925 as veteran trail driver Theodore Reese of Floresville is greated by city and county officals in front of the old Palace Theatre building in San Marcos. Reese, a pony express rider, made his stop here to help publicize the movie, 'The Pony Express,' which was showing in San Marcos. This picture belongs to County Judge Max Smith and was brought to the Record's attention by Eddie Serur. Those who could be identified are (front, left to right) Bill Jackman, E.E. Barnes, Jim DeLoach, Mayor Bales, Willie Wheeler, Ellis Serur and Fred Serur. The boy with the cap on (far right) is Dee Horton, while the man directly in front of him is Atwell Summers. Reese passed through San Marcos carrying messages from the mayors of cities he passed through to George W. Sanders, president of the Old Trail Drivers Association. The association was holding a convention in San Antonio..
