$aDr. Daniel Rojo was the first hispanic doctor in San Marcos, TX. Dr. Rojo served the Hays County community as a physician from 1930 until his death in 1978. Dr. Rojo was a trailblazer for civil rights and equality in the minority community. |

$aDaniel Rojo Jr. was born in San Marcos to Dr. Daniel and Mrs. Guadalupe Rojo. He was schooled in Mexico City, Mexico for his primary studies, returning to the States to finish high school at San Marcos High School. He joined the US Airforce during the Korean War and upon his discharge of duties, attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College where he obtained his BS in 1957 and later his Masters in 1959 in Mathematics and Physics. He worked for New Braunfels ISD for 29 years. |
